The Tidbit

Though it’s weeks past Halloween, I’m of the opinion that “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is an all-year-round type of film.

This past weekend, Spotlight Arts Collective put on a black box-like stage production of “RHPS” aptly titled, “The Rocky Horror Show.” Taking place at CD&ME in Frankfort, the show featured Rocky fans from around the area. In time honored Rocky fashion, it was a late night with a start time of 11pm.

I’d been feeling sick the days leading up and relied on extra sleep and InstantIV to get me through. Though a hydration packet won’t cure an illness, being hydrated is a key part to recovering from the common cold. Drinking these since getting my flu shot – and in the week featuring sickness that followed – has helped the illness develop further than just being a minor nuisance.

I like InstantIV more than other hydration packets I’ve tried because it has less sugar and kept my fingers from swelling like they otherwise would. Keep these in mind when staving off cold and flu season.

Because I felt well enough to not only attend Rocky but enjoy the libations offered at the venue, I figured it would be the perfect time to test out the anti-hangover Party Patch. These B vitamin-infused patches are to be worn for eight hours, and you’re to put them on when you start drinking. I popped one on my wrist and enjoyed the evening.

Typically when I drink (especially if I mix types of alcohol) I’m rewarded with an ocular migraine. Now, I’m not saying that the Party Patch is a cure for migraines, but all I know is I didn’t have anything regarding a hangover the next day. My friend Lauren tried one, too, and texted me the next day, “I think that patch actually worked. I don’t have a hangover. I’m just tired as hell from being up so late lol.” So, could be worth a shot for your holiday festivities.

Now, I’m left with the post-Rocky depression; eagerly awaiting the next time I can sit in a theater and shout at actors doing their job.
