After re-watching this incredibly underrated flick by equally underrated writer/director Emilio Estevez, I was reminded of the sheer beauty of its soundtrack. Taking place on June 4, 1968, Bobby follows the (fictional) stories of a number of different people affiliated with the Ambassador Hotel the day of presidential-hopeful Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination. In addition to the high-profile soundtrack, the film features an extensive number of A-listers, including: Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Martin Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Shia LaBeouf, Anthony Hopkins, William H. Macy, and Sharon Stone, to name a few.
To assist with the shift from story line-to-story line is its era-friendly soundtrack, which has all the feels of the late 60s. Highlights include:
